Welcome! I’m Deborah Johnsen, a wife, homeschool mom to 3 beautiful girls (one with Type 1 Diabetes), entrepreneur, and self-trained chef.
I motivate and teach wellness without being complicated. I share simple, healthy, delicious recipes, and I write about living authentically. I believe that wellness is a lifestyle and every single one of us has the power to improve their health, achieve their goals, and develop sustainable habits to live a healthy and balanced life!

One of our daughters was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of four.
Although she would need insulin, I also believed that there were other ways that I could support her autoimmune disease. This was my “ah-ha” moment and my “Why” for starting Our Intentional Lifestyle. Driven by the desire to help my daughter, I was fortunate to advance my personal knowledge of these matters by becoming a Certified Holistic Health Coach through The Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
I’ve lived the real life struggles and have the solutions that help our family manage this autoimmune disease! I now understand how nutrient-dense foods, exercise, stress, and sleep all play an important role in managing blood sugar and insulin sensitivity.
What started out as my personal journey has now evolved into a mission to educate and encourage healthy, mindful living! I work with private clients and have created 3 programs, each tailored to a different concern.
My hope is to inspire you to draw the connection between the lifestyle you live and how you look and feel!
